Unlike the original films, director Paul King describes it as “more like a movie with songs than a musical.”

Nevertheless, the director praised Chalamet’s singing voice, claiming the actor has “a beautiful singing voice.” In addition, King compared Chalamet’s voice to Bing Crosby. “There’s quite a range because it does go from a couple of bigger, showstopper-y sort of things to moments of real, pure emotion, and he can do it all…,” he stated.

Also, King has some exciting news for the fans of the chocolatier, “I would definitely like to do more. And I’d like to spend more time in this world,” he revealed. “Dahl was definitely interested in taking Willy Wonka on. There’s drafts that didn’t really go anywhere, and there’s a short story. He didn’t really write sequels, but this was the one book where he clearly felt there was more in the tank there. There’s an awful lot more Wonka story that we have that we would like to tell.”

Although Roald Dahl only published two stories from the Willy Wonka series on record, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Charlie and the Glass Elevator, he had been working on many more stories following the adventures of Willy Wonka.

In addition to Chalamet, Hugh Grant (Oompa Loompa), Sally Hawkins(Wonka’s mother), and Rowan Atkinson join the screen for the chocolatey adventure. Moreover, new stills from the film are going around on social media. The film is set to release in cinemas on December 15.
