On July 31, “Euphoria” star Angus Cloud died at his home in Oakland, California. It was discovered the cause of death was an accidental overdose.

Trigger Warning: This story covers sensitive materials including mental health and drugs.

Angus Cloud, known as “Fezco” in Euphoria, had been battling mental health and recreational drug usage for an extended period before he passed. His father had also died a week before Cloud was found dead.

Alameda County police told People Magazine that “cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and benzodiazepines (depressant drugs often used to treat conditions such as anxiety disorders, insomnia, and seizures) in his system at the time of his death.”

His family released a statement, “The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.”

Four days after his passing, his mother, Lisa, spoke out on Facebook and explained to her audiences that Cloud’s death was unintentional. The night before he died, he was seen “reorganizing his room and placing items around the house with intent to stay a while in the home he loved.” She had also mentioned that he spoke about wanting to help out his sisters who were in college, as well as be there emotionally and financially for his mother.

Lisa has done everything she could to keep his name and memory alive. She posted a video of her son in New York City just before his breakout role in Euphoria. She then put the caption, “It really captures my son’s extraordinary spirit.”

Lisa stressed to the world that Angus Cloud did not purposely leave this earth.

“Please know that Angus didn’t plan to leave us. He would never have wanted to cause the pain and loss we experience. Please know that Angus would want every one of us to thrive, love and create.”
