Millie Bobby Brown is not as devastated by the ending of Stranger Things as one might assume. The series closing only opens new doors of opportunity for the young star.

As Stranger Things prepares for its final season, Millie Bobby Brown shares her excitement for the new opportunities she will now have time for. In recent interviews, Brown has discussed her desire to pursue other stories she’s passionate about.

“When you’re ready, you’re like ‘All right, let’s do this. Let’s tackle this last senior year. Let’s get out of here,'” she stated. “Stranger Things takes up a lot of time to film and it’s preventing me from creating stories that I’m passionate about. So I’m ready to say, ‘Thank you, and goodbye.'”

However, Brown did acknowledge all that the series had given her. The actress’s role as Eleven has helped to expand her opportunities, making her the star she is today.

Following the wrapping up of the series, the connections and relationships between the crew remain strong. “When it ends, I’m going to be able to still see these people,” stated Brown. The actress has several new projects in the works, the biggest being The Electric State.

Brown has been working on Stranger Things since she was 13 years old and has been through a lot with the series. Brown recalls the criticism she would receive from adults at such a young age and the pressure that would put her under.

Additionally, the harmful and frequent criticism the actress received during interviews discouraged her to the point where she would stay silent in fear of others’ comments. Brown shared that her experience has led her to want to protect other child actors in the future.

Brown is ready to put the series to bed and look to the future. She remarks that “it’s been such a huge factor in part of my life, but it’s like graduating high school, it’s like senior year. You’re ready to go and blossom and flourish and you’re grateful for the time you’ve had, but it’s time to create your own message and live your own life.”

With passionate projects and upcoming films, Brown has a lot to look forward to following Stranger Things close.
