Taylor Swift is breaking yet another record with the debut of her concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, surpassing Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never.
It has been a Taylor Swift year as she is working on multiple projects including re-recording her previous six albums, releasing a brand new album, and her Eras Tour that began in May. For those who were not able to purchase tickets to see her live, Swift created The Era Tours Concert Film that debuted this passed weekend. An estimate of $95-$97 million was earned at the box office, making it the highest-grossing concert film in history.

The film scored an impressive 100% from Rotten Tomatoes and an A+ from cinemascore. Swift’s shattering record surpassed Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never concert film, grossing over $73 million.
Swift cut a deal directly with AMC Entertainment instead of a traditional movie studio. This allowed her to bypass the traditional Hollywood system and still achieve massive success. The pop star held a Los Angeles premiere that took over 13 AMC theater at The Grove.
With $130 million globally, Taylor Swift's #TheErasTour movie is easily the best opening of all time for a concert film.

Swift set ticket prices at $19.89 for adults and $13.13 for children and seniors, but "people will pay more… for the right movie." https://t.co/NIIzzsNWKt
The theaters even agreed for the ticket sale price to be exactly $19.89, representing her 2014 album 1989 that will also be re-recorded. Usually, concert films are not too popular with cinemas. Only a very limited number achieve success, let alone reach the level of success that Taylor Swift’s: The Eras Tour film has attained. Another concert film coming out next month is Beyoncé’s Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé. Having these two films consecutively released could potentially spark a new cinematic trend, leading to a surge in popularity for concert films.
