Halle Bailey Honored With Glamour Women of the Year Award
Halle Bailey was honored with the 2023 Gen-Z Game Changer Award at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in London on October 17.
The Glamour Women of the Year Awards took place at the famous One Marylebone, hosted by comedian, Katherine Ryan. The Little Mermaid actress was honored amongst many inspiring and extraordinary women for continuing to set the bar high in their respective fields, including entertainment, business, music, and more.
According to Red Carpet Fashion Awards, Bailey stunned on the carpet wearing a strapless Nicole + Felicia mini-black velvet dress that featured white satin roses. With her hair pulled back, she accessorized with a diamond necklace, bracelet, and earrings. Bailey topped the look off with strappy black heels and red lipstick.
The Grammy-nominated artist accepted her award and acknowledged women who have “paved the way” for her to be where she is today. She also spoke candidly about what she has taken away from being in the spotlight in footage shared on social media.
“It is such an honor to receive the Glamour Women of the Year, Gen Z Game Changer Award,” she continued. “I have never claimed to be the voice of my generation, so I can only accept this award through the lens in which I see the world and appreciate all the beautiful female souls that have paved the way to allow me to be here today to accept it.”
Bailey did not stop there. She continued to express her gratitude on social media, mentioning that the Glamour Women of the Year Gen-Z Game Changer Award is a “special honor” because her recognition for the work she has been putting in throughout the years isn’t going unnoticed.
The world is well aware that the Glamour Award recipient’s life has been under scrutiny for being linked with her boyfriend DDG, who accompanied her at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards. In her caption, she seemingly reflected on keeping her head held high as she continues her journey with her career.
Bailey is not letting the naysayers get the best of her, as she will continue to look forward to prospering in whatever life has in store for her.
