Bad Bunny’s Epic Night on SNL: Host, Music, and More

Last Saturday, Bad Bunny made an appearance doubling as a host and musical guest for his third Saturday Night Live appearance.

On Saturday, the award-winning musician appeared on the New York-based sketch series yet again. Bad Bunny appeared onstage to deliver his monologue, joking about the hateful comments claiming he couldn’t host SNL because English isn’t his first language. In the middle of his monologue, he switched to Spanish.

Bad Bunny was joined along side Mick Jagger, who made a surprise appearance with two sketches. The 80-year-old rockstar slapped the rapper during a taping of a Spanish soap opera and infiltrated a covenant as a nun-in-disguise. Before Bad Bunny’s appearance, Lady Gaga also made an appearance to announce his first live performance of his newly-released song, “Un Preview.”

Throughout most of the night, he appeared in almost every sketch. He portrayed a non-traditional rapper, the King of Spain, and a difficult yet wholesome Burt’s Bees employee. In a pre-recorded video, Bad Bunny also dressed head-to-toe as Shrek, green skin and all. He pitched a wild yet oddly moving Shrek film that the members of comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy ultimately loved. However, Bad Bunny decided to ditch the screenplay.

Along with the sketch performances, SNL mentioned two People exclusives during the weekend update. They brought up Britney Spears’ new book, The Women In Me, as well as Jada Pinkett Smith’s memoir, Worthy.

Between headlining Coachella 2023 and being Spotify’s most-streamed artist three years in a row, the Puerto Rican rapper and singer is one of the top artists right now.
