Rihanna Sets New Record, First Female With 12 Songs Over One Billion Streams

Rihanna has extended her record as the female artist with the most songs to have 1 billion streams in Spotify history. Rhianna’s “Too Good” has officially become her 12th song to hit 1 billion streams.

Back in June, Rihanna was celebrated for reaching 10 songs to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify. Since then, the talented artist has added an additional two songs to the record and is expected to have another song soon.

Rihanna has been decorated as the first female artist in Spotify history to have twelve songs surpassing one billion streams. The artist reached this milestone despite not having released a new album in over seven years.

At the announcement of her first ten songs hitting one billion songs, Rihanna took to Instagram to boast her well-deserved achievement. “wit no new album…lemme talk my sh*t” the artist joked to her fans in the captions. Rihanna hasn’t yet commented on reaching 12 songs, but it’s only a matter of time.

The singer’s last album, Anti, dropped back in 2016. With a number of chart-topping songs and record-breaking albums, fans are still itching for a new album.

After being worried she wouldn’t be able to top Anti, Rihanna stated that she just “want[ed] to have fun” with her next album. Rihanna claimed that she didn’t want to spend her time stressing over a new album, and instead wanted to take time to “make music and make videos.” While there have been no new albums, Rihanna had her recent debut on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack.

Rihanna’s 12 songs that have surpassed a billion streams include “Four Five Seconds,” “Love On The Brain,” “Needed Me,” “This Is What You Came For,” “Stay,” “Love The Way You Lie,” “Work,” “Umbrella,” “We Found Love,” “Diamonds,” “Wild Thoughts,” and, just recently, “Too Good.”
