Olivia Rodrigo Reveals Hidden Gem About Her Song Teenage Dream
Olivia Rodrigo sang the ballad of a homeschooled girl, and revealed interesting facts about her songs on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
During her interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Rodrigo revealed a secret sound bite at the end of the last track in her new album, GUTS.
Kimmel asked Rodrigo if there was a pattern in picking out her album titles, more specifically her next one.
“Almost between sour and GUTS sounds like you need a tums or something,” Kimmel joked. In addition, the singer-songwriter is a fan of the “four-letter word theme.” However, she also disclosed that she isn’t settled on an idea yet.
Following along Kimmel rolled off a few four-letter words including “lamp” and “narc.”
Moreover, Rodrigo reveals that at the end of “Teenage Dream,” the last track on her newest album GUTS, includes a snippet of a conversation with her producer discussing the next album title. “If you listen close enough it’s my producer going ‘What should the next four-letter album title be? Fart,” Rodrigo leaked.
“Speaking of four-letter words,” Kimmel stated, “We have to listen to the clean version of your songs because ‘Vampire’ has a catchy little lyric that our son started singing back to us.” Rodrigo revealed that she is aware of the younger audience that listens to her songs. “I love using a swear word where I think it is tasteful and necessary but sometimes I try to tone it down. There are a few songs in the album where I was swearing all over and I had to tear it back.”
Furthermore, Rodrigo’s second album, GUTS features two top 10 songs, Vampire and Bad Idea Right? just days after the release. “The new album starts with 302,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Sept. 14”, according to Billboard.
