Sneak Peek of New Chloé x Atelier Jolie Collaboration: Everything We Want to Know About the New Luxury Collab
A sneak peek just released on the new Chloé x Atelier Jolie Collaboration, giving us almost everything we want to know about the new luxury collaboration.
In May, the Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie announced her intention to create her own sustainable fashion brand. In an Instagram post, Jolie stated, “I’m starting something new today — a collective where everyone can create.” Jolie continued, “Atelier Jolie is a place for creative people to collaborate with a skilled and diverse family of expert tailors, pattern makers and artisans from around the world.” Thus, Atelier Jolie was born.
In true Jolie fashion, there are ethical intentions that the label prioritizes. The brand’s themes include sustainability, diversity, and creativity. Hence, a union between Chloé and Atelier Jolie was established in July. A natural sequence leading up to the grand beginning of a much-anticipated label. Even more so since Chloé was the first luxury brand to become a certified B corp. Meaning, the luxury fashion house takes every precaution to ensure its materials are ethically and sustainably sourced.
With this in mind, what can we expect from the upcoming collaboration? “Parts of the capsule collection showcase the work of artisans from a Fair Trade enterprise and spotlight female-led social enterprises, while multiple looks make use of deadstock and lower-impact materials,” explained Atelier Jolie on their official Instagram account. A collective team of artisans with varying degrees of feminine interpretation will create marvelous alternative designs to the modern, feminine theme.
This theme was demonstrated through the first glimpse of the collection posted on Chloé’s Instagram. Angelina Jolie herself is photographed in a minimalist rustic background. The backdrop is an aged gold hue with an ethereal lumination slightly above her head. Jolie is positioned somewhat off-center, wearing a rich satin gold maxi slip with what appears to be a deliciously lavish chocolate brown velvet cape. The flowing impression of both pieces and Jolie’s heroine-like stance accentuates the aesthetic dimension, all while appearing to be walking gracefully toward us barefoot.
Overall, the collection perfectly strikes femininity and sustainable luxury fashion. Many of the pieces will incorporate elements of vintage, second-hand, or disposed materials. It is an excellent opportunity for those seeking to dip their toes in luxury fashion but don’t agree with the waste a majority of the industry represents. Gabriela Hearst, previous creative director for Chloé, is working alongside Angelina Jolie in the collaboration. The Chloé x Atelier Jolie Collaboration is expected to release at the end of January 2024.
