In honor of Matthew Perry, Friends added a tribute card after his sudden death on Saturday.

Matthew Perry, who starred in the hit sitcom Friends, drowned at his Los Angeles home on Saturday at the age of 54. No drugs were found at the scene, and police say no foul play is suspected.

To pay homage of the late actor, Max is adding a tribute card to the beginning of each season of Friends on the streaming platform. It features a simple yet powerful message: “Matthew Perry, 1969-2023.”

Perry was best known for his Emmy-nominated 10-season run as Chandler Bing on the sitcom, along with costars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer.

Friends’ co-creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane and executive producer Kevin Bright issued a joint statement to People Magazine on Sunday, praising Perry both on and off screen.

“We are shocked and deeply, deeply saddened by our beloved friend Matthew’s passing,” they stated. “It still seems impossible. All we can say is that we feel blessed to have had him in our lives. He was a brilliant talent.”

They continued, “We will always cherish the joy, the light, the blinding intelligence he brought to every moment, not just to his work, but in life as well. He was always the funniest person in the room. More than that, he was the sweetest, with a giving and selfless heart.”

Matthew Perry’s death is a tragic loss for the world, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of Friends lovers everywhere. Fans will miss his humor and charm. Furthermore, his work on the series will continue to be enjoyed by people all around the world.
