Halle Bailey and DDG Best Costumes: Tribute to Poetic Justice
Halle Bailey and her boyfriend DDG pay tribute to the classic film, Poetic Justice, posing as Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur for Halloween.
The couple took to social media to share images on October 29, recreating the 1993 film’s promotional shoots 30 years after its release. Bailey, who continues to be reminded by fans that she favors a young Janet Jackson, used the film Poetic Justice for inspiration as this year’s Halloween costume, with Youtuber/Rapper DDG, also known as Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.
The actress rocked Jackson’s signature braids, a black beret hat, and silver earrings. DDG matched the look with a cap, jersey shirt, gold necklace, and Shakur’s signature nose ring. Both served looks, with all smiles and several angles showcasing how well they can embody the characters Justice and Lucky, portrayed by Janet and Tupac.
Bailey shared images on Instagram with the caption, “poetic justice, put it in a song,” Kendrick Lamar’s 2012 single, and ended the caption with a black heart, star, and music symbol emoji #halloween2023.
However, this is not the first time The Little Mermaid actress sported the iconic Janet Jackson look for Halloween. According to Vibe, the actress recreated a different look from the film and Jackson’s 2008 Discipline album cover.
Fans shared their excitement over the couple’s adorable photos, with one user on X claiming DDG and Halle won Halloween. There is chemistry between the duo, as they seem to have embodied the “street romance” as depicted in the promotional shoot.
Bailey posted a video on TikTok, where the two recreated a scene from the film. In the video, both lip-sync to an iconic scene in the film. This scene is the first time Justice meets Lucky, and she asks him what he wants from her.
The couple seems to have outdone themselves in this year’s spooky season.
