Apple Music Is Introducing Collaborative Playlists and Other Updates

Apple’s newest iOS update is full of exciting features and much-needed updates including collaborative playlists on Apple Music.

Apple Music has some new and improved updates coming your way. With the iPhone’s newest update, iOS 17.2, Apple Music users will now be able to create collaborative playlists.

All of the features announced earlier this year are now available with Apple’s newest update. The new update includes a new journal app, a favorite songs playlist on Apple Music, new widget options for weather and clock, and more.

Apple Music is receiving a highly anticipated re-design, along with several interesting features in the iPhone’s new update. Collaborative playlists, specifically, have been a long-requested feature by users.

Users and friends can now add, reorder, and remove songs on one combined playlist. This feature makes road trips, house parties, and traveling with friends that much easier. Users no longer have to switch from one playlist to another or from phone to phone to play the songs they want.

Once you have a playlist created on Apple Music, it is quick and simple to add collaborators. To add friends to your playlist, simply open Apple Music, and tap the Library button at the bottom of your screen.

Select the playlist you want your friends to collaborate on, tap the three dots on the top right of the screen, and hit Collaborate. Once you hit the Collaborate button, a link will be created to send to friends and family via Airdrop, Messages, Shareplay, and more.

Aside from collaborative playlists, users will also have a few more features to enjoy on Apple Music.

Fans will be able to discover who is behind their favorite songs with the new feature, Song Credits. Apple Music has expanded its selection of playlist cover art that users can choose from when creating or updating a playlist.

The update also includes Shareplay, which invites trusted iPhones to join Carplay sessions from their phones. Once invited to the session, simply tap to connect. Listeners, regardless of their Apple Music subscription status, can contribute to what’s playing from any phone.
