Tame Impala Is the Producer of Dua Lipa’s Single ‘Houdini’
Tame Impala and Dua Lipa team up for the highly anticipated single, “Houdini.” Impala served as producer for the song.
The singer-songwriter has us levitating after her previous hit, “Dance the Night,” featured in the soundtrack for the summer film Barbie.
Her newest single will be produced by Tame Impala, known for their innovative sound and musical prowess. This collaboration promises to bring a fresh and dynamic element to Dua Lipa’s already impressive repertoire, according to Variety.
Dua Lipa has been teasing her third album since early 2022. When Elton John appeared on her podcast, Dua Lipa: At Your Service, she told him it was halfway finished.
“The album is different — it’s still pop but it’s different sonically, and there’s more of a lyrical theme,” she told Variety, “If I told you the title, everything would make sense — but I think we’ll just have to wait.”
Since that conversation 11 months ago, little information has been revealed. One source told Variety earlier this year that she had been working with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker.
The Grammy-winning pop star announced her new single on Wednesday on Instagram, debuting her new Auburn Hair, licking her reflection in a mirror.
Lipa wiped her Instagram and TikTok accounts, then changed her profile picture to a kaleidoscopic image on all platforms. The mysterious teases left fans a little confused.
The singer has been posting and quickly deleting mysterious videos on social media. The content features mirrored images, close-ups of herself, and footage of her playing with a key on her tongue.
