In an interview for Vanity Fair, Julia Fox admitted that she grew up watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians and that Kim Kardashian inspired her.

Fox sat down with Vanity Fair for their Lie Detector Test series on YouTube. Vanity Fair asked the Uncut Gems actress if her voice was real, which she replied “I think so, yeah.” That was her first lie, Fox believed that the voice change happens subconsciously.

“I don’t think I even realize when I’m doing it. It just happens,” she continued. “You know, whether it’s the baby voice or the like damsel in distress, it’s kind of a defense mechanism so that I’ll be taken care of.”

The interviewer also asked Fox if she was inspired by Kim Kardashian, and she answered, “Yes, I am. I actually really love her, yeah. I actually grew up watching ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians.’ I actually liked it before they were even cool.”

The interviewer then asked Fox if she thought Kim Kardashian was inspired by her. “I would say that there have been some looks that are a little similar to mine,” Fox stated. “But I feel like it’s just what’s like trending, but I don’t think I’m on her mood board or anything like that.”

Later in the interview, a question about her opinion on men came up. She expressed that she doesn’t hate men. This answer came up on the detector device as a lie. “I think that there’s a lot of men that benefit from the systemic oppression of women in our culture and society and religions. I do wish that more men could stand up for us,” she explained further.

Beyond this interview, Fox recently released her memoir, Down the Drain, last month. The book chronicles the hard times she’s seen and her drive for survival. From being banned at Bloomingdales at 12 years old to marrying her drug dealer and tattooing his name on her wrist, Fox bears her heart open to the world.
