Matt Leblanc Shares New Matthew Perry Tribute Post
With the death of beloved Friends star, Matthew Perry, Matt Leblanc was one of the few to reflect about the death on Instagram.
Ever since the death of Matthew Perry, fans have been waiting to hear from the cast. Although they posted a group statement, it was short of telling everyone that they are still processing what is happening. A couple weeks after Perry’s death, the cast began to release individual statements. Matt Leblanc was one of the first from the Friends cast to post on Instagram.

In the Instagram post, Leblanc shared photos of the two from their times on the series. In the caption, Leblanc writes, “Matthew. It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life,” he wrote. “It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend”. He goes on to state, “I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never,” he continued. “Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love”. Ending with a light hearted joke, “And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me”.

LeBlanc and Perry were known to be one of the most beloved best friend duos on tv history. For ten years, the two shared the screen making everyone laugh. In 2021, the entire Friends cast reunited to share memories and laughs together from their time on the series. Leblanc answers the question of where would all the characters be, he stated that Joey would own a chain of sandwich shops. Perry added that the character would eat all the sandwiches.
The two have always bounced jokes off each other. With the entire cast, it was like no time past at all. They all picked up where they left off and have even kept contact over the years since the series’ ending. In 2016, Leblanc also came to support Perry in his playwright debut, The end of Longing, which premiered in London.
The entire cast has released individual statements in regards to Matthew Perry’s death. All including that they would miss him and his ability to make everyone laugh. The entire cast showed up to Perry’s funeral which occurred a week after his death.
