The Queen of Christmas took the stage at the Billboard Music Awards this past Sunday. The “All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer delivered a festive and cheerful performance of the Christmas classic on BBMASWatch for the holiday season.

Carey spoke about the performance before Sunday in the interview below.

Carey posted she was bringing in the “holiday cheer,” when she announced the news of her performance via Instagram on November 16.

“Bringing holiday cheer to the Billboard Music Awards! Tune in this Sunday at 5 pm PST via #BBMAs socials, @billboard, and bbmas. watch!” she exclaimed.

Prior to her performance, in an interview with Access Hollywood, the Grammy winner teased a sneak peek at what fans could expect from her upcoming performance. “You might see ice skating, and you could possibly see snow,” she shared.

Additionally, the singer was honored with an award during the program for the hit song “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” This award was titled the Billboard Chart Achievement Award.

This is a well-deserved award for Carey, as this song has successfully topped the charts yearly during the holiday season. “It has thus far spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s flagship chart, becoming one of three Carey hits to log 10 or more weeks in the top spot,” Billboard revealed

According to Billboard, the two other hits included “One Sweet Day,” a collab with Boyz II Men that spent 16 weeks at No.1 in 1995-1996, and “We Belong Together,” which spent 14 weeks on top in 2005.

Meanwhile, the songstress is fully embracing the Christmas festivities. She recently kicked off her “Merry Christmas One and All” concert tour on November 15 in Highland, California. Additionally, her two twins, Moroccan and Monroe, are on the road and will appear in the show.
