SZA becomes the first woman to finish as Billboard’s #1 year-end R&B/Hip-Hop Artist since Beyoncé in 2014.

After 17 nominations in 16 categories, the R&B singer won four of them. These categories include Artist, Top R&B Female Artist, Top R&B Song (“Kill Bill”) and Top R&B Album (“SOS”).

The top-hitting artist surpassed Queen Bey in three of the four categories along with other major singers. In addition, SZA ran against Drake for the Top R&B Album, Rihanna and The Weekend (Top R&B Artist); Metro Boomin, The Weeknd and 21 Savage (Top R&B Song), plus The Weekend and Ariana Grande (Top R&B Song).  

This past Sunday, the yearly Billboard Music Awards was held at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Karol G kicked off the evening by performing songs from her recent album Manana Sera Bonito. Other artists include Mariah Carey, Peso Pluma, Stray Kids and Morgan Wallen.
