Miley Cyrus returned to the stage for an intimate performance of “Flowers” to ring in her 31st birthday.

Miley Cyrus has returned to the stage to celebrate her birthday with close friends and family. While standing in front of a small crowd, the singer rang in her 31st birthday by singing her hit song “Flowers.”

The artist’s birthday was invite only and took place in the iconic Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles on November 22. Cyrus stunned in a strapless black mini dress with matching gloves and a timeless slicked-back low bun.

“My birthday gift to MYSELF this year was VERY on brand,” captioned the singer in a post on X of her performance the following day. “I performed for MYSELF and sang my favorite songs including my own. The first ‘live’ performance of Flowers was to an audience full of friends and family. Taking this song back to the seed… she sprouted sensationally. Grateful for the growth in us both.”

Accompanying the artist’s own songs, Cyrus performed Journey’s “Faithfully,” as well as a new love song that seems to be about her romance with her boyfriend Maxx Morando.

“Don’t know if it’s ever gonna stop / I wouldn’t mind if it didn’t,” sang the artist in a video circulating social media. Morando was seen sitting front row in awe. “Don’t leave me high / Don’t let me down / ‘Cause I want you more.”

Cyrus’s intimate performance comes just months after she shared she has no immediate plans to tour.

“This has nothing to do with a lack of appreciation for the fans and everything to do with I simply don’t want to get ready in a locker room,” the singer wrote to fans on Instagram back in May. “I just don’t want to sleep on a moving bus. It isn’t what’s best for me right NOW.”

Cyrus has been very selective with her public appearances in the last few months. Her last red carpet was back in April where she presented her stylist Bradley Kenneth with a Fashion Los Angeles Award.

The singer is, for now, focusing on her “humanity” and “connection” so she can put her energy towards her songwriting.
