In a recent interview with Variety, Grammy-winning singer Billie Eilish explains her contribution to Greta Gerwig’s critically acclaimed movie, Barbie, and the single featured in it, “What Was I Made For?”.

Eilish explains that the song and film have sparked conversations on gender equality, beginning the interview by stating, “being a woman is such a war, forever.”

She then discusses her relationships with females.

Despite feeling intimidated by women at times and never really feeling like she “could relate to girls very well,” her connection with her female friends and family members is strong. Eilish also states that she was physically attracted to women despite their intimidations of beauty.

“I love them so much. I love them as people. I’m attracted to them as people. I’m attracted to them for real…. I have deep connections with women in my life, the friends in my life, the family in my life. I’m physically attracted to them,” Eilish mentions in her Variety Interview.

Eilish was thrown into the industry at a young age once the release of her song “Ocean Eyes” became a massive hit at the age of 13.

Dealing with expressing her sexuality while coming to terms with young adulthood and fame was challenging for her. Being constantly in the public eye marked a significant transition for Eilish.

Her newest song, “What Was I Made For?,” explores the depths of womanhood. The song trended on TikTok as other women posted about the females in their lives.
