Florence Pugh Hit by Thrown Object at New Movie Panel
Florence Pugh was left speechless after being hit by an object thrown from the crowd at the Dune: Part Two panel.
Actress Florence Pugh was hit by a thrown object last Sunday when appearing at Comic-Con in Brazil. Footage of the incident shows Pugh, alongside co-stars Zendaya, Austin Butler, and Timothee Chalamet, on stage promoting their newest film Dune: Part Two.

While on stage, an object was thrown from the audience in Pugh’s direction. The Oscar-nominated actress was hit in the right eye by the flying object.
Earlier in the evening, the actress had expressed that it was “really, really special” to her to be appearing in the sci-fi sequel.
Pugh is the latest in the list of celebrities who have had objects thrown at them on stage. Earlier this year, “Watermelon Sugar” singer Harry Styles was also hit in the eye by a candy that was thrown at him while performing a gig in Austria.

In addition, Pink looked uncomfortable when a fan tossed a bag of human ashes on stage while she performed her set at BST Hyde Park.
Back in July, Adele spoke out during her Las Vegas show about audience members throwing objects on stage. In a viral clip of her holding a T-shirt gun, the singer told the crowd that people have forgotten “show etiquette.”
Early this summer, pop star Bebe Rexha collapsed on stage after being hit by a phone at her New York performance. She was taken to the hospital and had to receive stitches above her left eye. The man who threw the phone claimed to have thought “it would be funny.”
Rapper Cardi B had a much different reaction to having a drink thrown at her while performing on stage. In response, the singer threw her microphone at the fan.

While many look into this new relationship between fans and their favorite artists, some believe that this behavior is in an attempt to gain attention from stars. As fans find it harder to be seen on social media by these artists, they act out more extremely in physical settings.
“If you’re in the same physical space as them, and you’re throwing something, then you’re going to get noticed,” stated Doctor Lucy Bennett, a lecturer at Cardiff University.
The recent incident with Pugh and the many others before this reflects a growing issue of disrespect towards public figures at events, emphasizing the need for more considerate fan conduct.
