Following delays from SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, it’s announced that Bridgerton Season 3 will be released in two parts next year, in May and June.

The creation of two seasons in previous years has created quite a growing fanbase and the lead actor in season one, Rege Jean Page, earned himself an Emmy nomination for Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Moreover, the Producers of the much-loved series have released a trailer for the newest installation.

Julia Quinn’s critically acclaimed books have been adapted into amusingly romantic stories set in the Regency era of England. The series also features string quartet covers of present-day pop music.

In addition to being nominated for Outstanding Drama Series, after the release of the second season, the prequel of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story aired on Netflix. Fans, originally set to see the third season this month, were impatient to see what the creators had filmed.

Each season follows the romantic journey of each Bridgerton child. Season three features the third eldest child, Colin Bridgerton, portrayed by Luke Newton, who ends up falling for his best friend and the girl next door, Penelope Featherington, portrayed by Nicola Coughlan, who is secretly the town gossip Lady Whistledown.

Before this, the first season followed Daphne and the Duke who had a fake relationship that turned real. The second season featured the eldest son Anthony and love interest Kate in their enemies-to-lovers trope. Now fans are ready to see the slow burn of Penelope and Colin in their friends-to-lovers trope after rooting for them throughout both seasons one and two.

Fans were excited to know that the season was being renewed for another part. The producers revealed it will be released in two parts, and fans are not unhappy with the prolonged wait.

Actors on the series were all born and raised in either the U.K. or Ireland, they were represented by a different union while Shonda Rhimes, the American creator of Bridgerton, is a longtime member of the WGA.

Many were sad to hear of the postponement, but glad to see that Rhimes and her company, Shondaland, were fighting for fair wages and protection for other members of the union. The first part of the third season comes out on May 16. In the meantime, fans can watch the previous seasons on Netflix.
