Halle Bailey Welcomes New Baby Boy, Halo, with Boyfriend DDG
Halle Bailey is now a new mother. The Color Purple actress, 23, announced the birth of her baby boy, Halo, on Instagram, whom she shares with her boyfriend and rapper, DDG.
On Saturday, January 6, Bailey posted a photo of her holding a baby’s hand. On the baby’s wrist was a golden bracelet with the words “HALO” inscribed. The actress was over the moon over the birth of her son, writing in the caption. “Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo the world is desperate to know you.”
Even her boyfriend, Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., aka DDG, took to social media to express his excitement. On his Instagram account, he posted a similar photo, which he captioned, “My biggest blessing by far, son.. never been so in love, baby halo.”
The Little Mermaid star first sparked pregnancy rumors in the summer of 2023. While on a walk with the rapper, Bailey was photographed wearing a baggy hoodie and sweating with what seemed to be a baby bump. Then, the pregnancy rumors were fueled at the MTV VMAs Awards in 2023. While presenting at the awards, the actress donned a long orange dress, masking her stomach. The following month, a person commented on Bailey’s nose, stating how it looked like a “pregnancy nose.” However, she wasn’t having it, putting the person on blast.
“Listen, if I see one more person say something about my nose one more time, it’s going to be hell to pay,” she responded in a video. “You know why? Because I’m black. I love my nose. What are you concerned about my nose for? Leave me the hell alone.”
In December, the “Do It” singer hid her baby bump at the Color Purple premiere. Her maroon gown was floor-length with multi-layered ruffles, concealing her bump. Throughout the entire pregnancy speculation, neither Halle Bailey nor BBG have confirmed the pregnancy.
