Britney Spears Confirms There’s No New Album
Britney Spears went on Instagram to set the record straight regarding her music career comeback. She responded, “I will never return to the music industry!!!”
On January 3, Spears posted a lengthy Instagram caption confronting the news media for spreading false rumors about a supposed album. Allegedly, her message comes following reports from Page Six and The Sun.
Before her post, Page Six wrote that the pop icon was working on a tenth album. It followed an article by The Sun claiming an inside source stated, “The Britney album is being kept top secret.” Additionally, the combined reports rumored that Charli XCX and Julia Michales were to be working with Spears on the hypothetical album. However, the information could not be further from the truth.

Spears firmly stated. “Just so we’re clear most of the news is trash!!! They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album… I will never return to the music industry!!!”
Although Spears has come out with two collaborative singles, “Hold Me Closer” and “MIND YOUR BUSINESS,” following her conservatorship termination, she is not interested in “pushing forward [her] music career,” as previously mentioned in her memoir The Woman in Me.
Spears reveals that she finds comfort in simply writing songs. “When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people!!!” She shares on Instagram that she has “written over 20 songs” in the last two years as a ghostwriter. Spears ends her post by assuring the public that she “enjoys it that way!!!”
Spears deleted her account altogether on the same day of posting. However, on January 6, she reactivated her Instagram page, this time being private.
Even though Spears will not make a music industry comeback, fans can look forward to hearing her lyrical influence in future artists’ songs. If you want to get to know more about Spears, you can read her memoir here.
