Linda Ronstadt is an iconic singer-songwriter known for her versatility across all genres of music. She sang country, rock n’ roll, Latin, and opera. Throughout her widespread career, she garnered 11 Grammys and was honored by both the Recording Academy and the Latin Recording Academy with Lifetime Achievement Awards.
The singer is known for a string of hits, which include “Blue Bayou,” “Long Long Time,” “When Will I Be Loved,” and others.
Gomez has received two Golden Globe nominations for her work on Only Murders in the Building, where she stars and executive produces alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short. She broke out into the music scene with pop hits, such as “Stars Dance” and “Love You Like a Love Song.” The actress also has a makeup line called Rare Beauty.
In 2011, after five decades in the music industry, Ronstadt announced her retirement. She was unfortunately unable to sing anymore due to her progressive supranuclear palsy, which was originally mistaken for Parkinson’s.
Linda Ronstadt is one of the greatest musicians of her generation. We look forward to seeing Selena Gomez take on the powerhouse vocalist. In the meantime, Simple Dreams is available to purchase at select bookstores.
