Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, and Regina Hall to Star in Paul Thomas Anderson’s New Film
Paul Thomas Anderson will return with a star-studded cast, Warner Bros. has him set to direct his next film with Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, and Regina Hall.
The film is currently untitled, and the rest of the cast is still under discussion. Anderson is coming off his Oscar-nominated film Licorice Pizza, released in November 2021. The film was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay.

Although, it has been some time since Anderson’s worked with ensembles, but he has with 1999’s Magnolia. Additionally, the most famous one being 1997’s Boogie Nights, which many still today consider his biggest hit. Those casts included the names of Mark Wahlberg, Julianne Moore, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Tom Cruise, Burt Reynolds, John C. Reilly, Don Cheadle, and more.
Anderson is widely considered one of the best filmmakers working in Hollywood today, and his pairing with DiCaprio will grab the eyes of film buffs. Moreover, the film will be the first collaboration between DiCaprio and Anderson.

Hall, known for her comedic talent, will also be collaborating with Anderson for the first time. Penn is familiar with Anderson after starring in Licorice Pizza. Warner Bros. had the highest-grossing film of 2023 with Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, but are in a transitional phase for their big-budget films.
Tom Cruise recently announced a big deal to work with Warner Bros. Discovery on original blockbuster films. James Gunn is also in the process of creating the new DC Universe.
Warner Bros Motion Picture group co-chairs and CEO’s Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy assisted Anderson with Licorice Pizza during their time at MGM studios. De Luca has also served as a producer for some of the biggest films in history including The Social Network, Moneyball, The Mask, and countless others. Abdy is also highly respected in the film industry.
Undoubtedly, DiCaprio continues to work with some of the best filmmakers today. He adds Anderson after recently coming off productions with Martin Scorsese, Adam McKay, and Quentin Tarantino. This new film is written by Anderson and will be his tenth feature film.
