Muni Long Hit Single ‘Made For Me’ Charts #2
R&B artist Muni Long, a.k.a Priscilla Renea Hamilton, released “Made For Me” on September 15. The single has now risen to number 2 on the US Apple Music chart.
Long has become famous for her soulful, nostalgic love records over the past few years. After releasing her breakthrough hit single “Hrs and Hrs,” she claimed the top spot on Billboard’s Emerging Artists list in 2022. Also, the singer-songwriter’s 2022 LP Public Displays of Affection: The Album reached number 21 on the Billboard R&B Album chart. In 2023 and 2024, she carried on that success with the release of “Made For Me.”

The song tells the story of two people who didn’t think too much about love until they met. They can’t fathom loving anybody as much as the other person. As the lyrics suggest, according to Genius, “I’m never gon’ love like this again (Again, yeah). You were made for me (Just for me).”
Long’s music has a distinct quality that makes each listener feel like they’re deep in love. In an interview with Leah A. Henry, the “Mine” singer stated, “I just feel like everybody deserves to know what that feels like, you know? Being head over heels and just like, ‘Oh my God, I just love you so much.’ Whether it’s with your loved one, your family, your children, your animals. Some people feel that way about cats and dogs. I just think every human being deserves to feel that.”
“Made For Me” resembles the classic sound of R&B from the ’90s. The strong piano and 808 rolls bring a sense of nostalgia to the track. Producer Jermaine Dupri noted, “When I heard it the first time, when we had that conversation, I was like, ‘It doesn’t really need that much. It just needs a little bit of sauce.’ It had that familiarity of the records we do all the time.”
Fans also love the nostalgic feel of Long’s single. X user Zion stated, “Old school R&B is finally seeing the lights again. Redemption arc this is REAL MUSIC.”
