New Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Netflix Projects in the Works
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently developing new projects for Netflix after the release of their six-part documentary, Harry and Meghan.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released the docuseries, based on the story of their lives, in December 2022. The Netflix description reads, “From their courtship to their exit from royal life, Harry and Meghan share their complex journey in their own words.” Though its reviews were polarizing, it was the biggest debut for a Netflix documentary ever.
Three weeks later, they launched their second production, Live to Lead, which was about world leaders who’ve fought for social justice. Then, in August 2023, Harry premiered Heart of Invictus, featuring athletes preparing for the Invictus Games. The two also had a few smaller projects that didn’t come to fruition, including an animated series and a Spotify deal. However, the pair expects to keep their partnership with Netflix to release more large-scale productions like their original documentary.

According to the Daily Mail, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed a five-year contract with Netflix back in 2020. The estimated worth is around 100 million dollars. Now, the couple has announced that they have some new projects in development, including a film and a TV series.
“Oh, what are they working on? They have a couple of unscripted things,” stated Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s chief content officer, for The Guardian. “So all very early development, with a movie, a TV show, and a couple of unscripted shows. But yeah, the movie’s great.”
Although the specifics of the series are unknown, it’s rumored that the film could be related to their pre-planned adaptation of Carley Fortune’s novel Meet Me at the Lake. Netflix purchased the film rights to the romance in August, which Harry and Meghan will produce.
People’s responses to the project announcements have been overwhelmingly positive. “Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s partnership with Netflix is not only bringing us thought-provoking documentaries and inspiring content, but now they’re venturing into the world of movies and TV shows too. It’s wonderful to see them using their platform to share diverse stories and perspectives,” X user Jana noted. Another X user named Talha expressed anticipation for the Duke and Duchess’s continued collaboration.
