Two-time Grammy winner Ariana Grande posted a video to her Instagram where she gave fans a peek into a meeting with her label, Republic Records. There, she introduced tracks from her first album, Eternal Sunshine, in three years.

In the two-minute video, the “yes, and?” singer detailed how she returned to the studio when the SAG-AFTRA strike began in late July 2023, forcing filming of the upcoming Wicked films to come to a halt.

“I did a week with Max [Martin] in September, and then I came every day by myself for a while, and then we did another week in October, so this is all pretty fast, but I did want to share with you what it is,” explained Grande. She also stated that while Wicked has and will continue to occupy much of her time, she still wishes to put out new music to share what has been occurring in her life, “In my dream world, I know this is psychotic, but in my dream world, the first half of next year could be this.”

Additional clips of Grande are edited into the video of her meeting, showing her working in the studio and completing the photoshoot for Eternal Sunshine, which will have multiple cover variants—they have been revealed via her Sweetener Instagram account since early January.

Grande became emotional discussing the theme of the album, explaining, “It’s kind of a concept album because it’s all different heightened pieces of the same story of the same experience…some of them are really vulnerable, some of them are playing the part that people kind of expect me to be sometimes and having fun with that, and the rest of it is also just really vulnerable.” With this being the pop star’s first album in three years, the last being Positions, released on October 30, 2020, fans cannot contain their excitement, and neither can Grande. “i think this one may be your favorite. it is mine. ♡,” she wrote on her Instagram story.

The video concludes with a standing ovation from the meeting’s attendees for the nine songs Grande previewed. Eternal Sunshine will be released on March 8, 2024, and contains thirteen tracks. Digital and physical copies of the album and merchandise can be purchased on her website.
