This is a big week for Mariah Carey. After presenting a Grammy to another deserving singer, she has revealed she is heading to Vegas.

Mariah presented the first trophy at the Grammys on February 4 to Miley Cyrus for best pop solo for her song “Flowers.” Carey will be headlining “The Celebration of Mimi Live” in Las Vegas.

A few days later, the singer accepted the Global Impact Award during the Recording Academy Honors that the Black Music Collective presented.

The show is an exclusive Dolby Live at Park MGM residency held in Vegas from April 12 through the 27th and is limited to only eight days. The show will feature hits from Carey’s The Emancipation of Mimi such as “Shake it Off” and “Don’t Forget About Us.”

The news was released as an announcement in celebration of the anniversary of the top charting album, which premiered on April 12, 2005. Though a year early from the 20th anniversary, you can’t blame Mariah for wanting to celebrate prematurely. This album has the number one single “We Belong Together,” which pushed the album debut to number one and sold over 10 million copies.

This will be Mariah’s third residency and arguably the most special one. As her 10 studio album, released three years after “Charmbracelet,” Carey talked about how the album represented “the real essence of who I am.” in a Rolling Stone interview in 2005.

Her first two residencies at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace were #1 to Infinity and The Butterfly Returns. Her first show pushed the entertainment side of Carey; with spectacular visuals, it was a must-see experience; her second show focused more on her vocals. The set had 23 songs that included most of her hit songs.

One dollar from every ticket purchased will go towards the Fresh Air Fund’s Camp Mariah, a three-week summer camp for kids aged 11-15. The general ticket sale will begin February 10 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster
