Fantastic Four Reveals New Star Studded Cast and Release Date
Marvel Studios’ upcoming film, Fantastic Four, officially announced its exciting list of cast members as well as a confirmed release date for next year.
The cast includes a list of well known names including Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us), Vanessa Kirby (The Crown), Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear).
Marvel took to Instagram to share the news with a stunning retro graphic. The illustration features the characters in their signature blue suits. They decided to announce this on Valentine’s Day as a gift for the fans, with the banner reading “Happy Valentines Day” and heart balloons around it.
Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Pedro Pascal is confirmed to take on the role of Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic, the leader of the group. Vanessa Kirby is set to become Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn will potray Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm also known as The Thing.
The film will be adapted from Marvel’s comic books, reintroducing the story to our screens once again. Multiple installments and reboots have been made for the series over the years, with the most recent one being released back in 2015 starring Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan. However, this film did not receive the best reviews from both audiences and critics, earning an audience score 18% and 9% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The New Fantastic Four will be the first film to appear in Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which consists of a group of superhero films being released that are adapted from stories and characters that appeared in Marvel’s comics. This is a new era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
We haven’t been given any information yet as to what the plot and story will hold, other than the film will surface around the four characters and will skip their origin story and instead leap right into action. There are already theories and predictions surfacing the internet created by fans, and since we know Marvel is great at keeping spoilers and secrets, it might be a little while until we learn more. Fans also believe that the film will take place in 1963 because of clues in the graphic like the magazine shown, as well as Pedro Pascal posting a song from 1963 on his Instagram story.

Fantastic Four will be hitting theaters with an official release date of July 25, 2025. It originally had a release date of May 2, 2025. The film swapped places with another upcoming Marvel film that has been in the works, Thunderbolts. The film was first announced at San Diego Comic Con back in 2019, six years before its release. Moreover, this is something that fans are and have been on the edge of their seats for, sharing their excitement and theories on social media.
In 2023, Marvel Studios President stated “’Fantastic Four’ is the foundation for everything that came after in the comics. There’s certainly been versions of it, but never inhabiting the storytelling of the MCU. And that’s something that is really exciting for us.”
This is an exciting film for fans and although there is a bit of a wait, for now you can watch the latest Fantastic Four film released in 2015 that is available to stream on HBO Max.
