Crunchyroll announced the star-studded presenter’s list for the 2024 Anime Awards. The list includes three-time Grammy-winner Megan Thee Stallion, Ms. Marvel‘s lead, Iman Vellani, and more.

It’s no secret that Megan Thee Stallion is a fan of anime. She has used the characters as inspiration for outfits, mentions series in her songs, and is publicly vocal on her social media about her interests. She was first vocal about it at the beginning of 2019 on her X account. Since then, she has cosplayed as characters from My Hero Academia and Soul Eater, along with newer anime like Jujutsu Kaisen.

With her public love for the anime world, she gained a lot of new fans who saw themselves in her. Other Black women are vocal on X about how they feel more comfortable showing their interest in anime after Stallion did it.

In addition, she gained new fans among fellow anime fans due to her public love for it.

Because of the rise of anime in the Western world, Crunchyroll announced other presenters outside of what was expected. For instance, RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 10 winner Aquaria, Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani, British rapper Che Lingo, and NFL player DeMarcus Lawrence are part of the cast of presenters.

The presenters come from different areas of media. Each brings different audiences to The Anime Awards and shines a brighter light on the genre. All the Anime Awards started in 2017, and they happen annually to celebrate everything anime, from series and movies to the creators and animators behind the scenes.

Categories include, but are not limited to, Anime of the Year, Best New Series, Best Director, Best Voice Artist Performance (in both Japanese and English), and Best Anime Song. Some of the nominees include Chainsaw Man, Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, BLUE GIANT, Shota Goshozono, Mayumi Tanaka, and Abby Trott.

The winners are voted on by the public all over the world and a panel of international judges. Also, the event will take place at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa in Tokyo. The winners will be announced live on March 2.
