Normani just announced the release of her solo album “Dopamine.” Fans have eagerly awaited this album reveal, some wondering if it would even happen.

Since her solo career debut in 2018, Normani has released several hits, including “Love Lies” with Khalid, “Wilde Side” with Cardi B, and “Motivation.” But now she is releasing a full album. Breaking the news via Instagram, Normani wrote in her caption, “cryinngg typing this rn. DOPAMINE ALBUM.” With an overwhelming support from fans and friends alike, it’s safe to say that the audience is ecstatic.

In 2018, Fifth Harmony split up, allowing each artist to focus on their solo music careers. Six years later, Normani has announced her album. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Normani discussed what the indefinite hiatus of the girl group meant to her.

She states, “[it was] heartbreaking for me personally. The first day that we even put out the announcement for the hiatus, it was the toughest day.” Since the group disbanded, the music industry has seen bits and pieces of Normani, albeit only occasionally.

While we have confirmation that an album is coming, there is still no release date. Last year, in an interview with Rolling Stone, Normani confirmed that in joining a new management team, she had new music coming for her fans.

Despite fans teasing the singer for what felt like the longest wait in the history of album releases, the “Dancing with a Stranger” singer had personal issues to deal with. In the interview with ET, she revealed that her father, Derrick Hamilton, was diagnosed with cancer one year after her mother, Andrea, battled cancer for a second time.

She expressed that “[When my mom was going through chemo] the thing that really kept her going was getting on FaceTime and being like, ‘How are the sessions going?’ She’s always so eager to hear the new records we’ve been working on.”

“And then a year later when my dad ended up being diagnosed, he would say mid-treatment, ‘I’m ready for you to take over the world,'” the singer stated. Fans have high expectations for Normani’s first album.

The former Fifth Harmony singer made this revelation in a promotional collaboration with Bose, where she opened up about how music has been a “safe haven” for her and her family.

As fans wait in anticipation for Normani’s solo album, they can pre-save the album on Spotify.
