This year’s People’s Choice Awards were held on February 18 in Los Angeles, California. The stars were out, as Beyoncé, Ice Spice, Jennifer Aniston, Billie Eilish, and more took home awards this year.

Billie Eilish took home the TV Performance of the Year award for her acting debut in Swarm, a thriller miniseries created by Donald Glover.

While sitting down during the awards ceremony, the Grammy winner was seen speaking with Australian singer Kylie Minogue about the presence of TikTok influencers at the show.

The singer, 22, was heard stating to Minogue, “I’m like, there’s some… TikTokers here.” Before continuing her conversation, she covered the side of her mouth to avoid being overheard by other guests. She then gestured to something behind her while still speaking to Minogue.

The video of the two musicians speaking was quickly uploaded to social media platforms, including TikTok, and blew up almost instantly.

Many fans who watched the short video interpreted Eilish’s comments as disapproving of TikTokers who were there at the People’s Choice Awards, mainly because the influencers are seen by some as having “no talent” compared to actual A-list celebrities who were in attendance.

A lot of fans came to her side and agreed with her stance on her comments, even praising her for speaking up about the recent surge of influencers attending red-carpet events.

“And she’s right because TikTokers are not celebrities and do not belong at awards shows. They cheapen them,” one user commented.

While fans supported Eilish, a TikToker actually came out against Eilish for her seemingly objectifying comments about influencers. TikToker Bryce Hall is one of the first influencers to speak out against Eilish, but this is not the first time he has called out a celebrity who made similar comments about influencers.

In addition, back in November 2020, Ariana Grande sat down with Zach Sang for an interview about her newest album at the time, Positions. In the interview, Grande talked about Halloween being canceled that year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, shading influencers in the process.

“Like, we all really needed to put on our cowgirl boots and ride a mechanical bull that bad. We all needed that Instagram post that badly?” Grande stated.

While Grande did not mention names, Hall decided to insert himself, claiming that it was a “marketing move and good for her” in relation to TikTokers having high audiences, so a lot of people would agree with her claims, especially with a new album coming out.

This time, Hall decided to insert himself again with Eilish, despite her not mentioning any names.

“First off, Billie Eilish, I am so sorry that I didn’t acknowledge your greatness and bow down to you being another human being,” Hall stated after stitching his reaction to the video on, you guessed it, TikTok. Hall went on to mention that he was a big fan of the award-winning musician and started poking fun at her comments, which many fans are interpreting as satire.

“I stanned you, Billie Eilish. And now I don’t think I can renegade to any of your songs anymore. So thanks for taking out all my content.” Hall stated.

Moreover, Hall also discussed that they invited the influencers who made an appearance at the People’s Choice Awards, so Eilish should “hate” on them for sending them an invitation.

Many fans believe Hall’s comments were satire, but some believe he could be trying to ignite a feud similar to the mini-feud he started with Ariana Grande in 2020. Until Eilish responds, it’s best to say Bryce Hall has started another one-sided feud with an A-list celebrity.
