Tyla Makes New Gap Campaign Debut
South African Grammy winner Tyla has her first-ever fashion campaign with Gap. The artist flaunts her style, demonstrating the potential to be an It-girl.
With astonishing dance moves, catchy songs, and a stunning sense of fashion, Tyla took over the internet and broke records. Gap’s newest campaign includes everything fans expect from her.
The campaign promotes the new Spring 2024 collection filled with natural fabrics such as linen. Alongside Tyla’s style, there are similar ensembles included. However, she still shines through in the video.
“It feels good. Gap’s ads are always so unique, and before I even got the offer, I loved the Jungle song and all the videos. I’m super excited for it to come out and for people to see me differently,” she stated for W Magazine.
The continuous shot displays pieces of the collection in neutral tones like black, white, and beige. Additionally, focusing on the dancers and, of course, Tyla, the clothes complement the choreography.
Other artists who have previously collaborated with Gap include Madonna, LL Cool J, and Missy Elliott. Tyla now joins the extensive list of great ambassadors for the brand.

The 22-year-old artist started her career right after high school in 2019 and reached national success in her home country, South Africa. However, her career flew to a higher level in 2023. Tyla had her first public performance at a Dolce & Gabbana after-party for the 2023 Milan Fashion Week.
She released her Grammy award-winning song “Water” in July, and the song reached the top 10 in many countries, including the US and the UK. The song has a different and catchy dance. People brought it to TikTok, filming their attempts at choreography. Inspiration for the dance comes from the South African style of dance, Bacardi.

On top of that, fans fell in love with Tyla’s straightforward personality and her non-conventional attire. Her style includes flowy skirts and dresses with asymmetrical cuts, transparency, colorful pieces, and overall influence by tropical clothing. Tyla uses the words “islandy” and “not too perfect” when describing her style to W Magazine.
