Charli XCX Announces New Album Brat Coming This Summer
On the eve of releasing her highly anticipated song, “Von Dutch,” hyperpop icon Charli XCX announced her sixth studio album, Brat.
Charli took to social media to reveal the title of her upcoming album, Brat. The “Speed Drive” singer teased the record by posting its cover art, the name of the album, in black text over a green background.

In the caption of the post, she shared that Brat will come out this summer, feature 15 tracks, and have a runtime of 41 minutes and 32 seconds.
The cover art was met with mixed reactions online. Some people loved it, while others were upset over its simplistic design.

The pop star has been hinting at releasing her sixth album in the lead-up to this announcement. In January, she tweeted, “xcx6 is very much giving housewives of salt lake city.” She also posted a photo from her February 22 Boiler Room set, “PARTYGIRL” captioned “before xcx6.”

Charli played some of the album’s unreleased songs for the first time at the event. The singer was thrilled that fans were finally able to hear her new music and looked forward to sharing it with everyone soon. In a post after the performance, she wrote, “i love you angels i love partying with you and i love all of you who wanted to be there but couldnt. xcx6 is a club record and i cant wait to party around the world with you all xxx.”

Brat will consist of dance music, and the artist shared her joy at being able to explore the genre. The “Trophy” singer explained, “i was born to make dance music.. i came from the clubs.. xcx6 is the album i’ve always wanted to make.”

This announcement comes along with the release of her new single, “Von Dutch.” Fans have been eagerly awaiting the full track after a snippet was posted to the singer’s TikTok earlier this month.
