Adele Postpones Sensational ‘Weekends With Adele’ Amid Health Issues
Adele recently announced on Instagram that she is taking a break from her Las Vegas residency, “Weekends with Adele,” due to illness.
The “Love in the Dark” singer explained to her fans, “Sadly I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency. I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break. I hadn’t quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I’m sick again, and unfortunately it’s all taken a toll on my voice. And so, on Doctor’s orders I have no choice but to rest thoroughly.”
Her post continued to mention the postponed dates, which include all five weekends in March. Adele also reassured her fans that information regarding their tickets would be sent to them.
The 35-year-old captioned her Instagram post with, “I love you, I’ll miss you like mad and I’m sorry for the inconvenience.”
The “Rolling in the Deep” singer first debuted her Las Vegas residency, “Weekends with Adele,” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in November 2022. It ran until March 2023, and she later added more dates to run from January to June 2024.
Her setlist included her Grammy-winning hits such as “Easy On Me,” and “Hello.” She also performed “Water Under the Bridge,” and “Send My Love (To Your New Lover).”
According to the New York Post Adele makes around $1.75 million for each appearance, which makes her the highest-paid performer in the history of Las Vegas residencies. On opening night, Adele welcomed over 4,000 fans to her intimate concert, performing 20 songs.
Since then, she has continued to perform each weekend, and in true Adele fashion, she has included comedic elements and banter between her song performances.
Her Instagram post garnered different reactions from fans who were supportive and understanding, while others were less sympathetic to what the singer is going through. Many fans were upset about the postponement because of the price they paid to experience “Weekends with Adele.”
We hope Adele gets the rest she deserves, and we look forward to seeing her on the stage after she is better. Until then, you can stream her music on all platforms.
