The group teased “Walk Like This” and its accompanying music video in a behind-the-scenes clip on X on February 27. They captioned it, “FLO lifers waiting for an announcement like…”
The following day, a brief snippet of the music video was shared to the account, previewing the song’s intro with the group’s trademark harmonized vocalization of their name. The clip films Quaresma walking in brown boots, emphasizing the sound of her heels clicking against the ground. Douglas looks on through a pair of bedazzled binoculars while sitting on the trunk of a nearby car. She spots and waves to Downer, sitting in the passenger seat of another vehicle.

Furthermore, FLO announced they would appear at Cuts & Slices pizzeria in Brooklyn, New York, on March 4. Five hours before the meet-up, the trio posted a video of themselves crossing the city street. In the background, a longer snippet of the song came out. The lyrics went as follows: “There’s a reason I walk like this (I walk) / my baby, he be loving on this (oh, yeah) / when he do it, he be workin’ that s*** (oh, yeah) / and every night he got me wanting more of it.”
FLO formed in 2019. Quaresma and Downer knew each other from studying at Sylvia Young Theater School in London. According to their Apple Music: Up Next interview, they found Douglas via her singing videos on Instagram. Their debut single, “Cardboard Box,” was released on March 24, 2022. The song and its video quickly went viral on social media with praise for FLO’s vocal and fashion styles reminiscent of Y2K R&B and fashion.
FLO quickly catapulted into the spotlight, making their American television debut performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on October 6, 2022. A month later, the group performed on Later… with Jools Holland. In 2023, they set the record for being the first female group to top the BBC’s annual “Sound of…” poll and win the Brit Rising Star Award at the Brit Awards in the same year. Moreover, FLO has collaborated with artists such as Stormzy and Missy Elliott on singles “Hide and Seek” (Remix) and “Fly Girl.” Their debut album is expected to be released this year, preceded by two EPs, The Lead and 3 of Us.
