Check out the Star-Studded Cast of Sony Pictures’ New Film SNL 1975

Sony Pictures’ upcoming film, SNL 1975, has just announced the lineup of actors that will join the star-studded cast.

Recently, the actors took to social media to share the exciting news of their casting. The lineup includes Kaia Gerber, Finn Wolfhard, and Andrew Barth Feldman. Gerber will take on the role of Jacqueline Carlin, with Feldman as Neil Levy, and Wolfhard as an NBC page.

They will join the cast of previously announced actors, including Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner) as Dan Aykroyd, Lamorne Morris (New Girl) as Garrett Morris, and Rachel Sennot (Bottoms) as Rosie Shuster, among many others.

The plot follows the true story of what happened during the evening of the first Saturday Night Live broadcast. It will portray a real account of the behind-the-scenes chaos, planning, and events leading up to that night in 1975. Viewers will get a glimpse of what it was truly like for all involved. From the writers to the crew, to the comedians, the film portrays what it took to create the on-screen magic.

Jason Reitman, the filmmaker known for working on films including Juno (2007) and Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) will direct the film. He and Gil Kenan will reunite to write the script, having worked on numerous projects before, including Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024) and Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021).

Reitman, Kenan, Jason Blumenfeld, Erica Mills, and Peter Rice, will produce the film. To keep the story as authentic as possible, Reitman and Kenan conducted interviews with all of the SNL cast members. They recounted their own stories and memories. It is sure to be a special watch for all Saturday Night Live fans, especially those still tuning in fifty years later.

Actress and model Kaia Gerber is the first to join the cast. While Gerber is mostly known for her successful modeling career as one of the world’s top models, she recently had her breakout role as Brittany in the hit comedy film Bottoms (2023). She also starred as Starlet in the film Babylon (2022) alongside iconic actors like Margot Robbie, Emma Stone, and Brad Pitt.

Wolfhard is most known for his role as Mike Wheeler on Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things. In 2019, Wolfhard was nominated for a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Male TV Star for his Stranger Things role. He was also nominated for three Screen Actors Guild Awards, all for Stranger Things, and took home a win in 2017 for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, which he shared with his co-stars.

The last to join the cast is Andrew Barth Feldman. The actor and singer has quickly become a rising star, with his few roles being a huge success. His popular roles include Antoine in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Alex in the romantic comedy A Tourist’s Guide to Love (2023), and his most recent role as Percy, Jennifer Lawrence’s love interest, in Netflix’s No Hard Feelings (2023). In 2019, at only sixteen years old, he got the lead role of Evan Hansen in the Tony Award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway, which propelled him to stardom.

The cast release is already causing chaos and excitement on social media, with fans immediately tweeting the exciting news.
