Bradley Cooper makes a cameo in season 3 of ABC’s Abbott Elementary. Quinta Brunson, the creator of the series, shares her experience working with the actor.

Cooper’s appearance comes as a pleasant surprise to fans of the TV series. In his cameo, he makes an appearance in Melissa’s (Lisa Anne Walter) class when a student introduces him for show and tell. The students and the teachers humorously ask him about his career and his critically acclaimed film, Maestro. However, they confuse him for being in Oppenheimer instead.

Quinta Brunson explains what it was like to work with Cooper. She tells Variety, “Bradley was actually incredible. He had a hectic schedule, of course, but was as eager to make it work as we were. We talked about the best creative way to have him join us for a cold open. Since he’s a local (to Philly) it was easy to imagine he was visiting his favorite deli. Besides that, he was lovely on set. Super kind and cool to the cast, crew, and kids. He walked down to meet the crew before it was even time for him to film. It was awesome, and it was a joy to act with him.”

During the actor’s cameo, the program playfully made fun of his previous acting roles. The character, Barabra (Sheryl Lee Ralph) states, that she loves his film, The Holdovers, and that she finds it heartwarming. The character, Gregory (Tyler James Williams) responds by stating, “It’s ‘The Hangover,’ and no it’s not.”

Cooper was also nominated for this year’s Oscar for Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay for his film, Maestro. The Principal, Ava (Janelle James) jokingly confuses this with the critically acclaimed film Oppenheimer which starred the actor, Cillian Murphy who ultimately won Best Actor for the 2024 Oscars. During Cooper’s appearance, he also shows his sense of humor when he playfully goes along with these jokes.
