Dua Lipa officially revealed her third studio album, Radical Optimism.

The singer announced the album on an Instagram livestream before sharing the news on social media. The pop star tore open a paper in the live stream to reveal the record’s cover. She declared, “Radical Optimism, the album, out May 3rd.”

Photographer Tyrone Lebon shot the cover art, which features the artist in shark-infested waters under a tranquil sunset.

The singer also revealed the tracklist for the LP, which will contain eleven tracks:

  1. “end of an era”
  2. “houdini”
  3. “training season”
  4. “these walls”
  5. “watcha doing”
  6. “french exit”
  7. “illusion”
  8. “falling forever”
  9. “anything for love”
  10. “maria”
  11. “happy for you”

The artist first shared that a new record was coming last summer. Lipa already released two singles from the album, “Training Season” and “Houdini.” Both songs achieved spots on the Billboard Hot 100 when they debuted.

In the lead-up to the announcement, the pop star teased that news was coming as she posted a cryptic video with the caption “it’s coming” and a wave emoji. Her website also “glitched” with a message telling fans to “sign up” for optimism, happiness, fun, love, vertigo, chaos, havoc, disruption, hope, passion, mayhem, revolution, desire, and celebration.

Regarding the album’s title, the “Don’t Start Now” singer explained to Billboard, “A couple years ago, a friend introduced me to the term ‘radical optimism’… It’s a concept that resonated with me, and I became more curious as I started to play with it and weave it into my life.”

“It struck me – the idea of going through chaos gracefully and feeling like you can weather any storm,” Dua Lipa continued. “At the same time, I found myself looking through the music history of psychedelia, trip hop and Britpop. It has always felt so confidently optimistic to me, and that honesty and attitude is a feeling I took into my recording sessions,” she added.
