Saturday Night Live just announced the exciting group of upcoming guests, including Ryan Gosling, Chris Stapleton, and Kristen Wiig.

The official SNL social media account announced the news today, with photos of their classic bulletin board of the guests’ names guests on blue and pink notecards. The first photo includes info for the April 6 episode, with host Kristen Wiig and musical guest Raye. The second picture shows the following week of April 13, with Ryan Gosling as the host and Chris Stapleton as the performer.

These announcements are something that many fans of the sketch comedy series enjoy looking forward to each season. Whether it is viewers from home or fans anxiously awaiting their tickets to be in the audience, waiting to see who appears on screen- or on set in front of them, it is always exciting to get that notification.

Wiig will host the first night on April 6, which means we are bound to get a night full of hilarious sketches by the actress and comedian. It will be a nostalgic moment for long-time fans of the series, as she was a series regular from 2005 to 2012. Moreover, she has portrayed some of the funniest and most memorable characters throughout her time on SNL, including Target Lady, Gilly, Aunt Linda, Penelope, Sue, and numerous other hysterically written characters.

Wiig exited the series in 2012 over a decade ago, but has come back four times since then to host in 2013, 2016, and twice in 2020. This will be her fifth time hosting, so it will be nice for fans and the current cast members to reunite with her on and off-screen.

In addition to Wiig as a host, British singer and songwriter Raye will be the musical guest of the night. The pop artist is known for her trending songs which went viral on TikTok, including “Escapism,” “Prada,” and “Worth It.” She has been a rising star in the industry, with over ten million certified sales in the UK, and has been recognized for her artistry and creative vision. She has also won 6 Brits Awards and became the first female artist to win Songwriter of the Year.

Ryan Gosling is set to host SNL for the third time on April 13. The actor will likely be promoting his upcoming film The Fall Guy, where he stars alongside Emily Blunt, which is scheduled to release a few weeks later. Gosling, best known for his iconic roles in Barbie, La La Land, and The Notebook, has a wide range of acting and singing skills that will come in handy during the episode.

Moreover, throughout his career, Gosling has received nominations for a myriad of awards. The nominations include 3 Academy Awards, 5 Screen Actors Guild Awards, and six Golden Globe Awards, winning 1 of them in 2016 for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy in La La Land. Fans are already sharing their excitement on social media, bringing up his old sketches from his previous time as a host. Who knows, maybe he will do a surprise performance of “I’m Just Ken” after his iconic performance at the Oscars over the weekend.

Furthermore, singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton will be the musical guest that night. The country rock star is best known for his hit songs “Tennessee Whiskey,” “You Should Probably Leave,” “White Horse,” and “Broken Halos.” He released his most recent music, his fifth studio album Higher in November of 2023. Chris Stapleton will be touring on his own and with the band Little Big Town this year across all of America. Fans of the artist are very excited for his third appearance on the series. The last time he appeared was in 2018 when he performed “Midnight Train to Memphis” in a surprise guest collab with country singer Sturgill Simpson.

Stapleman shared the news on his Twitter, captioning it “I’m Just Chris” jokingly, referencing his episode partner Gosling.

We can expect a very entertaining two weeks in April with the talented guests. The series has had incredible guests recently. Ariana Grande, Sydney Sweeney, Kacey Musgraves, and many more celebrities have recently appeared on the program.
