R&B artist Kehlani recently shared a snippet of their upcoming single “After Hours” on social media. Not much is known about the song yet, but fans are excited.

On March 25, Kehlani took to both TikTok and Instagram to post clips of “After Hours.” The videos feature them dancing and lip-synching to the track in a gym. At the end of the video, they write the song’s name in all caps on a whiteboard. Even though the snippet is short, fans flooded the comments section of both posts with praise.

“We don’t gotta take it slow. I’mma hit the gas if you’re ready to go,” the lyrics state, based on the video. The backtrack is upbeat and quick, with Kehlani’s smooth vocals laid on top. Billboard speculates that the music in the background actually samples another song. They theorized that “After Hours” pulled a sample from Nina Sky’s “Move Ya Body” featuring Jabba.

However, there is no more public information about the single. Besides the snippet Kehlani shared, nothing else has been revealed about the song’s production or release date. All fans know is that “After Hours” exudes the vibe of a summer party and that it’s the first music they’ve seen from the “Hate the Club” singer in a while. Fans took to X to express their anticipation of Kehlani’s upcoming content.

Billboard states that “After Hours” will be the artist’s first solo release since their 2022 album Blue Water Road. The 13-track LP reached No. 13 on the Billboard 200 and No. 8 on Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums. It also featured collaborations with Justin Bieber, Jessie Reyez, and Thundercat. The subsequent tour—The Blue Water Road Trip—marked the singer’s first tour in five years. Blue Water Road‘s stellar performance bodes well for Kehlani’s future projects, including “After Hours.”
