Recent high-profile crimes in the subway system prompted Gov. Kathy Hochul to deploy National Guard members to some of the busiest stations.
Since the onset of COVID-19, the city has struggled to reclaim its previous sense of security. Parents are apprehensive about allowing their children to commute on the subway daily.
In the wake of these alarming incidents shared via social media, women online have expressed a heightened sense of unease.
Coming together in these dark times, women have united, encouraging each other to remain vigilant and mindful of their surroundings while navigating the streets of New York City.
