Jeremy Allen White may go from being The Bear’s star to embodying The BossThe actor is the top choice to take on the iconic New Jersey singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen, affectionately known as The Boss.

Although negotiations with The Iron Claw actor have not begun, White would travel to New Jersey after he finishes the fourth season of the award-winning series, The Bear. Scott Stuber has teamed up with Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Eric Robinson on the project. Scott Cooper will serve to both write and direct Deliver Me from Nowhere.

The film is described as a “narrative feature about Bruce Springsteen and the long effort to put together his seminal 1982 album, Nebraska.” Many have hailed Nebraska as Springsteen’s finest work. The Boss made the album in Colts Neck, NJ.

Springsteen’s sixth studio album had not only been inspired by personal events in his life. Terrence Malick’s 1973 film Badlands served as a major inspiration. The film that featured Sissy Spacek (Carrie) and Martin Sheen (The West Wing) is mentioned directly in the tracks “Nebraska,” “Atlantic City,” “Highway Patrolman,” “State Trooper,” and many others.

Springsteen and his manager, Jon Landau, are actively involved in the project. This would not be the first time that The Boss has been involved in the film-making process. He won the Best Original Song Oscar for “Streets of Philadelphia” in 1994. The track was featured in the 1993 film Philadelphia, which starred Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump) and Denzel Washington (Training Day).

While we anxiously await more news on the upcoming project, fans can watch Jeremy Allen White in The Bear on Hulu.
