Ariana DeBose is going to “do the thing,” y’all, she’s back to host the 2024 Tony Awards.

DeBose has officially been announced as this year’s Tony Awards. If you’re unfamiliar with her work, you may recognize her from her roles in The Prom (2020), Hamilton, West Side Story (2021), and the Disney animated film Wish.

She is also slated to appear alongside fellow Oscar-award-winning actor Ke Huy Quan in his upcoming action project With Love. Be sure to keep an eye out for updates regarding the film.

Still, if this isn’t ringing any bells, others may know her from her performance at the 2023 BAFTAs, where she created a song to highlight some of the amazing women in the audience, specifically. The performance eventually went viral, prompting memes and posts from viewers around the world. The actress took the attention (yes, hate included) in stride, and we love her all the more for it. Since then, her career has only skyrocketed.

This is not DeBose’s first time hosting; this year marks the star’s third consecutive time hosting the famous awards. The Broadway star (Hamilton and The Donna Summer Musical) is perfectly suited for this role, and theatre fans are excited to see what she does this year.

Keep your eyes peeled to see what Ariana DeBose does next. Until then, get excited for what her 2024 Tony Awards gig has in store. The Tony Awards will air on Sunday, June 16 on CBS and Paramount+
