Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Her Husband Have Parted Ways

Gypsy Rose Blanchard took to Facebook to announce the end of her marriage to Ryan Scott Anderson. This decision comes just three months after her release from prison.

Blanchard and Anderson decided to exchange vows in a surprising turn of events. At the time, Blanchard was still serving her eight-year prison sentence at Chillicothe Correctional Center. Her incarceration was a result of her involvement in a dark scheme to orchestrate the murder of her mother alongside her former boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn.

In her Facebook post, which PEOPLE obtained, she wrote, “People have been asking what is going on in my life. Unfortunately my husband and I are going through a separation, and I moved in with my parents home down the bayou. I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now, I need time to let myself find… who I am.”

In addition to Blanchard’s separation announcement, she deleted her TikTok and Instagram accounts. She decided to take a step back from social media and focus on other aspects of her life.

Before this significant turning point in their relationship, Blanchard reflected on their decision to have a second wedding, inviting their friends and families to share in the celebration. This second wedding served as a stark contrast to their initial ceremony because of Blanchard’s sentence where it was only her and Anderson.

Blanchard explained to PEOPLE, “We do plan on having a reception/redo wedding with all of our family and our friends and the dress and the cake and everything because we deserve that. I deserve that. He deserves that,” she declared. “Our prison wedding was just something to where we can make our vows to each other. It was something that meant something to us. And I think the party is kind of for everybody else and us, but mostly for everybody else.”

As a result of her separation, some of Blanchard’s supporters are talking about how Hot Girl Summer is approaching. This trend encourages people to leave their partners.
