Chance Perdomo, the 27-year-old British-American actor famous for his roles in Gen V and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, died on Friday due to a motorcycle accident.

Larissa Saenz, his representative, confirmed the motorcycle accident. The statement did not disclose the location of the accident but mentioned that no other individuals were involved. The accident is thought to have occurred either late on March 29 or early on March 30, as he was traveling through Upstate New York on his way to Toronto to begin filming for the second season of Gen V

Perdomo, born on October 20, 1996, in Los Angeles and raised in Southampton, England. He received his first acting gig after he secured a minor role in an episode of Hetty Feather, a British children’s drama set in the Victorian era, after graduating from Peter Symonds College in Winchester, where he majored in theater.

Perdomo gained recognition in Britain for his role in Killed by My Debt, a TV movie depicting the true story of a young courier who tragically takes his own life due to overwhelming debt from traffic tickets.

In February 2018, Perdomo was announced as cast in the regular role of Ambrose Spellman on the Netflix series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Before this, Perdomo auditioned for Jughead Jones on Riverdale, which ultimately went to Cole Sprouse. However, Perdomo’s audition for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina impressed series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa so much that he specifically wrote the role of Ambrose with Perdomo in mind.

Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television expressed their devastation over Perdomo’s death in a Gen V social media statement. Variety reported that production on the second season is indefinitely delayed following Perdomo’s passing.

The producers of Gen V stated, “Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person.”

Perdomo’s memory will forever live on in the characters he portrayed on screen and in our hearts.
