Hunter Schafer Confirms Past Relationship With Rosalía in New Interview
In an interview with GQ Magazine, Hunter Schafer confirmed that she dated singer Rosalía in 2019.
Hunter Schafer confirmed her relationship with Rosalía in an interview with GQ. The Euphoria actress dated the Spanish pop star for nearly five months in 2019. Schafer explained the pair are still friends: “I have really beautiful friendships with people that I was once romantically involved with. She’s family no matter what.”
In January, Schafer and Rosalía were spotted in Culver City, California furniture shopping and enjoying smoothies together. After noticing them constantly spending time together, fans began speculating about their relationship. Moreover, many believed Rosalía’s song “Tuya” to be about Schafer.

Upon its release in June 2023, the Grammy Award-winning singer Rosalía spoke about leaving the track open to interpretation on the ¡Anda Ya! radio show. “How nice it is that everyone makes their own story… I love it. As a writer, I like when others create their versions. I will never break the magic of ‘this is fiction, and this is personal,’” she explained.
In addressing the allegations surrounding their relationship, Schafer commented, “It’s been so much speculation for so long. Part of us just wants to get it over with, and then another part is like, ‘It’s none of anybody’s f****** business!’” The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes actress also revealed that she discussed going public about their romantic past with Rosalía the night before the interview. “It’s something I’m happy to share. And I think she feels that way too,” she continued.
More recently, Schafer was romantically linked to Euphoria costar and musician Dominic Fike. They dated from February 2022 until around July 2023, according to E! News. While filming her upcoming horror film, Cuckoo, Schafer channeled her emotions and frustrations into her character Gretchen. “I got to exorcise a lot of the breakup feelings that I was going through,” the actress recalled.
Despite the hardships of their separation, Schafer looks back at their relationship with fond memories. Dating Fike allowed her to “work through a lot of feelings of disdain that I had towards men as a whole. I had a really beautiful relationship with [Fike], and it really opened me up in that way.”
Schafer is expected to return for the highly anticipated season three of the hit HBO drama series Euphoria. However, the filming for this has yet to begin. Moreover, the model will star in Cuckoo, a film directed by Tilman Singer, which will be released in August.
