As HBO’s longest-lasting series, Curb Your Enthusiasm, officially wraps up, David engages in a humorous banter with Wallace.
Seated for the latest episode of “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace,” the Curb Your Enthusiasm star and creator immediately expressed discomfort discussing his net worth.
Wallace reminisced, “My father always said people are fascinated by how much rich people are worth. I remember him famously asking Johnny Carson once, what’s his worth?”
In addition, David interrupted, having strong opinions: “That’s a terrible, terrible question to ask. Who does your father think he was, by the way?”
Wallace attempted to continue asking his question, but David did not back down, “I hope that Johnny Carson said to him, ‘Mike. None of your business. That’s none of your business,'” he stated.
Moreover, Wallace asserted that he looked up David’s net worth on the internet, finding that it was around half a million dollars.
The Seinfeld creator appeared just as surprised by the $500 million figure and had to stop himself from doing a spit take.
To avoid the question he explained, “By the way, I’m out of water. Okay. I’m out.”
David continued, “I’m gonna say what should have been said to your father, okay: None of your f***ing business,” he said while laughing. “How about that? And that’s ridiculous. … That number is so preposterous, okay? Ridiculous.”
Wallace tries to continue the conversation. He asked, “How about $100 million dollars?” Without missing a beat David replies, “Okay, how about you shut up? Okay. How about you shut up? Is that alright?”
Furthermore, Wallace laughed it off– saying that nobody had ever said that to him in an interview before.
