A Simple Favor follows Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick), a widowed stay-at-home mom and vlogger. She meets and befriends Emily Nelson (Blake Lively), a PR executive for the New York City fashion brand. Emily is married to Sean Townsend (Henry Golding), an English professor and one-time author. Soon after their friendship develops, Nelson asks Smothers to pick up her son from his kindergarten class, whom he shares with Smother’s son.
Smothers waits for Nelson to retrieve her son, but she never shows up after several hours. Three days pass, and there is no sign of Nelson. Townsend, who was on a business trip, returns to get his son from Smothers. They report Nelson as missing, but the police dismiss them. After making fliers about her disappearance and informing her YouTube audience, Nelson’s body is discovered in a rental car on a Michigan Lake. But is she really gone?

The sequel will feature the original cast of Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively, and Henry Golding. We will also see some new faces, such as Elena Sofia Ricci, Michele Morrone, Elizabeth Perkins, Alex Newell, Taylor Ortega, Lorenzo de Moor, and Aparna Nancherla.
While there is not much known about the plot of A Simple Favor 2, what is known is that Emily is getting married to a wealthy Italian businessman in Capri, Italy. The wedding brings murder, betrayal, and twists and turns.
While no release date has been announced for the sequel, you can watch A Simple Favor on MGM+ and Prime Video.
